Playground Games is best known as the developer behind the Forza Horizon games. According to some new information, the company could possibly be acquired by Microsoft. This is not that surprising given the close relationship the studio has enjoyed with Microsoft in the past.

In a PDF document posted on UK Government’s Companies House website, it was revealed that Keith Ranger Dolliger was made the new Director of Playground Games on May 29. Dolliger has worked as the  Vice President and Deputy General Counsel, Business and Corporate Development at Microsoft for a long time now. He was also made Director of companies such as Rare, Lionhead, and others just before Microsoft acquired these companies. This suggests that an acquisition of Playground Games is imminent. The studio is said to be working on a number of games as of now, such as the next entry in the Forza Horizon series and an open world RPG.

It’s likely that we’ll get to know more about the games and about the company’s future at E3.
