Keiji Inafune’s Mighty No. 9, a spiritual successor to the designer’s Mega Man series, will receive its first beta on September 1st. This was announced during a panel at PAX Prime. If you pledged $80 or more towards the game’s Kickstarter campaign, you’ll receive access to the game’s fifth level.

Currently, there’s only one level to play but as the weeks go by, Comcept will be adding more levels. The plan is to have three levels for beta tests to enjoy.

Mighty No. 9 is still a ways off from release. The initial Kickstarter campaign began last year and managed to notch up an astounding $3.8 million (the initial goal being $900,00). The game will be releasing in April 2015 for a number of platforms including Wii U, PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita and 3DS. Have you pledged towards the game? If so, let us know your thoughts on the beta as soon as you receive it.
