MLB The Show 26

MLB The Show 26 is fast approaching a month since its release, and it’s managed to garner a lot of forward momentum in that time frame, with a new accolades trailer showcasing a very favorable reception from multiple critics. It’s quite the solid start, and one that its players are surely hoping will continue as they keep coming back to its excellent simulation of America’s pastime.

The trailer even features our own review of the game, alongside several others who shared our opinion. We were quite happy with how it balances numbers versus the actual art of playing baseball, while managing to remain unpredictable in its moment-to-moment gameplay. Its new approach to Hitting Zones is also appreciated, and while some other additions and returning features might seem iterative, it all comes together to present an experience that truly captures the essence of competitive baseball.

It’s no surprise, then, that MLB The Show 26 has managed to capture the hearts and minds of critics and players alike, and it’s going to be interesting to see how the developers sustain its success with additional updates. But as the trailer below tells us, every legend starts somewhere, and MLB 26 is currently at a very good place. Check it out today on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
