Further extending its support for Microsoft, Mojang Studios announced at a pre-Gamescom press briefing that it’s upcoming multiplayer shooter Cobalt will be heading to Xbox One and Xbox 360. A release date hasn’t been confirmed as of yet, however, nor has there been any indication as to whether it will be hitting either platform first.

Developed by Oxeye, Cobalt was announced in 2011 and has been in an alpha stage on PC. Oddly enough, PC release details are conspicuously absent but we’ll probably be seeing the shooter on the platform in due time.

Mojang has already revealed at E3 that it is working on an adaptation of Minecraft for the Xbox One, although no release details were given for that either. Considering that Minecraft has been one of the biggest breadwinners for Xbox Live Arcade since its release – besides doing gangbusters with its retail release – Cobalt should be a good investment for Microsoft.
