Monster Hunter 4 Shipments Reach 2 Million Units

Achieves highest first week shipment numbers for a third party 3DS title.

Monster Hunter 4
Despite only releasing in Japan, with no indication of a Western release, Capcom has revealed that it has shipped 2 million units of Monster Hunter 4 for retailers in the country within the first two weeks, thus making it the highest first week shipment for any third party 3DS title. Of course, these aren’t sales figures – they only indicate the number of copies that have been sent out to retailers to sell.

Considering that it’s been out for only three days, it will be some time before official sales figures come in. It would be odd if Monster Hunter 4 didn’t figure somewhere in the charts.

As of now, the series has managed to sell roughly 25 million units overall. Monster Hunter 4 marks the first official main series entry in a while and brings jumping slashes and interactive environments that you can climb on to the core gameplay. Stay tuned for Media Create’s sales data in the coming days.
