Monster Hunter Rise

Next year will see the Monster Hunter series return to the handheld realm with Rise. The game was announced to be coming to Nintendo hybrid, and we’ve seen some nice action footage already. It will be familiar, I imagine, for a lot of older fans who came to love their monster slaughter on the go, but that isn’t to say it won’t have some new stuff. This time around you’ll be able to have a new dog companion that you dress up a bit.

Monster Hunter Rise will have the usual cat like companions, called Palico, but will also see a new type of dog-like friend, called the Palamute. You can see some concept art of both through here. In a new video, you can see how you can customize both of them as well as the player character. It’s not robust by any means, but you have some options for you and your buddy.

Monster Hunter Rise is set to release on Nintendo Switch March 26th 2021.
