During the recent Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase, Capcom has unveiled a new game in the Monster Hunter Stories franchise. The newest entry in the turn-based RPG series, dubbed Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, was announced with a new trailer which you can check out below. The game is slated for release in 2026, and will be coming to both the Nintendo Switch and the Switch 2.
The story of Monster Hunter Stories 3 looks like it will follow up on the events of Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, and will once more feature a friendly Rathalos named Ratha. The game made use of a similar art style to its predecessors, featuring a vibrant colour palette and cel-shaded art. The characters this time around seemed more grown up, however, much hint to more mature themes in its story.
Going by the franchise’s history, Monster Hunter Stories 3 will also likely be available on other platforms alongside its release on both Switch consoles. Like its predecessors, the title will also maintain the gameplay loop of taking on monsters for their parts to craft new gear, as well as befriending them throughout an epic story.
