Capcom has announced that it is taking feedback from Monster Hunter Wilds players and one of the most immediate is that Arch-Tempered monsters – originally planned to be available on a rotating basis with other event quests – will become permanently available.

As part of this, Monster Hunter Wilds will bring its currently-available Arch-Tempered Rey Dau event quest on July 16. However, the quest will return on a permanent basis with an update on July 23 alongside the Festival of Accord: Flamefete. Arch-Tempered Uth Duna – one of the new additions as part of the game’s recent Title Update 2 – will be made permanently available on the same day.

The company is also considering making future Arch-Tempered hunts available permanently alongside other improvements. “We are considering making the event quests for the upcoming Arch-Tempered monsters and other event quests permanently available as well. Once we’ve finalised the details of these improvements, we’ll share exactly what they are, as well as when they will be implemented.”

The move was made as part of a recent push by Capcom to bring more improvements to Monster Hunter Wilds. The company had spoken about investigating user feedback to address issues when it was asked about the “Overwhelmingly Negative” rating that the title currently has on Steam. “Our development staff are reviewing user feedback, including comments shared online, and will address issues where possible through future title updates,” said the company.

Monster Hunter Wilds’ Title Update 2 arrived recently, with two beloved monsters from older games returning: Lagiacrus and Seregios. Interestingly, the Lagiacrus hunt also includes some of the underwater combat mechanics that were present in Monster Hunter Tri. This is also the first appearance by Lagiacrus since Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate back in 2011.

Along with the monsters, Title Update 2 also brought with it other improvements, including a new Layered Weapon system that allows players to change how their weapons look. This was a much-requested feature from the game’s player base, especially since the Artian Weapons, some of the strongest available, all look too similar.

Looking forward, Capcom has also confirmed some of its plans for Title Update 3, which is slated to come to Monster Hunter Wilds sometime in September. Along with new monsters, the update will also bring with it new features, like talisman crafting, as well as more difficult quests that will feature their “own unique rewards”. A new talisman system is also being developed that will add random skills to talisman, with there even being a chance to get decoration slots so that players can add even more skills of their own choice.

Monster Hunter Wilds is available on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Check out our review for more details.
