As an Elder Dragon, Kushala Daora has a good many strengths. He uses wind to attack you and his wings are made of metal. Mid-air fights are thus not a good idea unless you can break the wings. Otherwise, Daora’s attacks include channeling wind underneath to prevent you from attacking and setting tornadoes loose within the vicinity (which can stun-lock you to death if you’re caught between them). Finally, he can fire a blast of wind that’s capable of one-shotting you. Learning his patterns and knowing when to engage is the only way to really beat Kushala Daora.
