Astro Bot is a 3D platformer developed by Team Asobi and published by Sony.
It’s the third Astro game after Astro Bot Rescue Mission and Astro’s Playroom, and the series’ first full console release.
"As long as the core elements and qualities of the game are great, then I think anything is possible," says creative director and studio head Nicolas Doucet.

Two Hard stages are themed on the iconic PlayStation face buttons and promise to challenge experienced platforming fans.
Team Asobi studio head Nicolas Doucet says the DLC will encompass new, shorter, and more challenging platforming levels, among other things.
As opposed to several other first-party PlayStation titles that cost $70, Astro Bot's standard edition will cost $60.
The latter includes early unlocks for Bloodborne and Golden outfits, two Dual Speeder paint colors, the official soundtrack and more.
Like Astro's Playroom, players can gather coins in-game and spend them on the Gatcha Lab, though its contents are unknown.

"We call it Astro Bot because we treat this as a new beginning," says Nicolas Doucet, who's studio head at Team Asobi.
Team Asobi's 3D platformer will also have "die-and-retry" levels, providing a more challenging experience for some players.
The DualSense, including haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, is fully supported. Team Asobi also promises "improved Astro controls."
True to recent leaks, the fan-favourite IP is getting its first full-fledged console platformer, featuring over 50 "exciting and diverse worlds."
Recent leaks have claimed that a new Astro Bot game is going to be unveiled soon and released exclusively for PS5 later in the year.
The game will allegedly be titled simply Astro Bot, and will be available for PlayStation 5, but not for PS VR2.
A recent leak claimed that the Silent Hill 2 remake would be showcased at a PlayStation-focused event in May.
The company said earlier this year that it wouldn't be releasing any new instalments in existing major franchises until at least April 2025.
Though Sony has said it won't be releasing any new instalments in major first-party franchises until next year, an Astro Bot game does seem to be on the docket.
Astro Bot developer Team Asobi has been working on an unannounced PS5 title since at least 2021.
The Astro's Playroom developer seems to be hiring for a new 3D action game which will feature "creative situations" that players will have to overcome.
The Astro's Playroom studio is "developing a franchise for all ages with global appeal." Sony also promises to continue investing in Japanese development.
