You know, if you’re going to do massive multiplayer games-as-a-service style AAA games, then you should look at Capcom, and learn from how they are handling Monster Hunter World. Not only is this gorgeous game a title with no egregious monetization, and with lots of excellent content built into the game, but Capcom has also committed to free DLC and content for it.

This includes the Celebration Item Pack, which all players can now claim for the great old price of absolutely nothing, upon logging in into the game. The pack will come with five items to help you out as you quest and try to hunt down some monsters.

Monster Hunter World represents the fifth major game in the series; it launched last week on the PS4 and Xbox One, and managed to ship 5 million copies worldwide over its first weekend, making it the most successful game in the series so far. A release on PC is also planned for later this year.
