Capcom’s Monster Hunter World has finally received the amazing Iceborne expansion on PC. However, excitement was marred by frustration when some players discovered that they couldn’t access their save files. The game would prompt players to make new save data, effectively wiping any progress.

This was due to a change in the format of save files but thankfully, Capcom has confirmed that a fix is on the way. Interestingly, the issue occurs when one’s save data hasn’t been updated since October 30th 2018, 11 PM UTC. For now, when the error comes up, simply shut down the game and wait for a fix.

Others facing performance issues will also receive fixes to high CPU utilization in the coming days. Capcom hasn’t dated the patch but noted that it will be coming in the next few days. Stay tuned for more information and in the meantime, check out our review of the PS4 version of Iceborne here.
