In the lead-up to Mortal Kombat 1’s launch, NetherRealm Studios and WB Games have released an explosive new trailer for the game and revealed details on what to expect from its accessibility options– though another tidbit that has been confirmed might not be to everyone’s liking.
NetherRealm Studios has confirmed that Mortal Kombat 1 won’t support cross-platform multiplayer upon release, which means players on different platforms won’t be able to play against each other. The developer does say, however, that it’s “hard at work implementing the feature into the game”, and that it will be arriving as part of a post-launch update. Exactly how long after the game’s release that update will arrive remains to be seen.
Mortal Kombat 1 is due out in less than a week, on September 19, for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Meanwhile, owners of the Premium Edition will be able to jump into early access starting September 14.
