Mortal Kombat 11’s reception has been somewhat mixed, largely due to the grindy nature of the in-game economy and unlock structure. A progression patch is coming that will give current players a decent chunk of in-game currency because of the backlash (you can get more details of this issue in our review). That’s not the only issues for PC owners, though. While the port runs smoothly overall, and isn’t as problematic as some of WB Interactive’s previous ports, it does have some nagging issues. A new mod is out to hopefully alleviate some of that, mostly fixing certain sequences being locked to 30 FPS.

While most of the combat plays relatively smooth on PC, for whatever reason, some actions are locked. That includes being in menus and the Krypt (the latter of which you will spend a lot of time in if you want to get skins and other cosmetics), but even in fights, the Fatal Blows, Fatalities, intros, and Krushing Blows are locked to 30, causing stuttering. The mod, which you can download here, unlocks all of that. You can see the demonstration below in video form. The mod also adds in Ultrawide support for the Krypt, removing the large black bars on the screen when you navigate it.

Mortal Kombat 11 is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC. You can check out some tips on getting in-game currency here, as well as where to get the items you want in the somewhat overwhelming Krypt mode.
