Towers of Time has been a rather contentious point for the Mortal Kombat 11 players. Revealed last week to be fairly grindy with unfair modifiers, these fears were realized when players actually got their hands on the game. NetherRealm Studios has spoken about addressing the difficulty of the Towers and the progression governing the game. To that end, a server-side update has gone live to tune the overall AI difficulty.

Following the latest Kommunity Kast, NetherRealm said in a Reddit post, “Through a server update, we’ve reduced AI maximum health and adjusted the frequency and cooldowns of many modifiers. In addition we’ve made many unblockable modifiers blockable.” It also admits that the overall difficulty and aggressiveness of the AI was “tuned too high.” While some challenges will still remain in Towers of Time, the developer doesn’t intend for everything to be that way.

As for the currency rewards, the development team is currently working on a patch to increase them while tweaking “other modifier values” that can’t couldn’t be addressed with this update. “We’re shooting to have the patch out this week, early next week at the latest.”

It also addressed the in-game store, noting, “As for the store, we want to stress that none of the in-game currencies (Hearts, Souls, Koins) are for sale. You also cannot buy Konsumables or Augments. You cannot purchase anything that impacts gameplay at all. Only cosmetics (including Easy Fatalities), and Time Krystals are available in the store.” To thank players and show that it values them “above all else,” NetherRealm will be issuing a currency bundle for free.

According to another Reddit post, this currency bundle consists of 500,000 Koins, 500 Hearts, 1000 Soul Tokens, and 1000 Time Krystals. The entire post is worth checking out, especially concerning the chests in the Krypt. Stay tuned for more information on the patch for progression rewards.
