Longer Post-Launch Support
For how successful Mortal Kombat 11 was, it felt odd to have only two Kombat Packs and the Aftermath expansion. Even with the new Tower boss fights, balance changes (which sometimes didn’t feel quick enough), and bug fixes, one would have expected more. Granted, NetherRealm did release 11 additional characters when support had finally wrapped.
But given how long other flagship fighters like Street Fighter 5 and Tekken 7 have been supported, less than two years of support does feel odd, and it is that additional content, balance changes, and so on that keeps a fighting game and its community alive. Hopefully, the sequel will have a longer shelf-life.
