Earlier this year, WB Games confirmed that Mortal Kombat 12 will release sometime this year, while developer NetherRealm Studios also recently dropped a brief tease for the game. And with the next instalment in the fighting series seemingly gearing up for its reveal, potential new details on some inclusions in its roster of characters may also have emerged.
Mortal Kombat, like many other prominent franchises, has a rich history of including guest characters from other IP, and it seems the next game in the series will feature a couple of popular superhero characters in that capacity. As per hints recently dropped on Twitter by journalist Jez Corden, DC’s Peacemaker and The Boys’ Homelander could both feature in Mortal Kombat 12 as guest characters. Whether they will be included as post-launch DLC remains to be seen.
As for when Mortal Kombat 12 will be unveiled, leaks have claimed that the game could be announced sometime in May. Incidentally, it’s also been reported that a PlayStation Showcase event is set for later this month, so we might be hearing more about the fighter in the near future.
Would be cool if he was playable in an upcoming fighting game.
