Case in point. When Raiden finally comes to the realization that Shao Kahn has to win in order for him to ultimately be stopped, Liu Kang flies into a rage. Obviously so because his friends have been killed and they’ve all been following Raiden’s advice for seemingly nothing. So Liu Kang goes to fight Kahn and Raiden tries to stop him but ends up killing him in the process. Yes, Raiden killed Liu Kang and then decided to surrender to Shao Kahn out of guilt. Hey, no one said this story was perfect.
