Mortal Kombat 1’s Homelander Won’t be Voiced by Antony Starr

Antony Starr, who plays Homelander on The Boys, won't be reprising his role when the supervillain joins Mortal Kombat 1's roster.

Mortal Kombat games have a history of adding popular cross-media guest DLC characters over the years, many of which are often voiced by their original actors- though things don’t always turn out that way. For instance, though it’s been previously confirmed that Invincible’s Omni-Man and DC’s Peacemaker will be voiced by J.K. Simmons and John Cena respectively when they join Mortal Kombat 1’s roster, fellow DLC guest character Homelander of The Boys fame won’t be voiced by his original actor, Antony Starr.

The same was confirmed by Starr himself, when in response to a question on Instagram about whether he’d be reprising his role as Homelander in Mortal Kombat 1, he simply responded, “Nope.” You can view a screencap of his response below, as caught by Twitter user @UppercutLLC.

NetherRealm Studios has confirmed that Homelander will join Mortal Kombat 1’s character sometime in Spring 2024. Meanwhile, the Omni-Man DLC launches imminently, on November 16.

Mortal Kombat 1 is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. It has sold nearly 3 million copies worldwide since its September release.
