The Silicon Dreams

This game had a great idea on how to deter pirates from pirating the game and then distributing it. As many of you are well aware, whenever you bought a game from the 90’s it would come with a manual of sorts. Now with The Silicon Dreams, the developers thought it would be nice to include something else in the manual. The developers threw in a free, full-length novel as some sort of an opening to the third game’s story. Now the catch was that the book was also used as a password generator, so that the game asked for the exact word at a exact page and line reference whenever a saved game was loaded. It was time consuming no doubt, but also quite ingenious.
