Developer Giant Light Studios has released a new trailer for its upcoming horror deckbuilder Mr Magpie’s Harmless Card Game. Along with showcasing some more gameplay, the trailer, which you can check out below, also confirms that Matt Mercer will be providing the voice for the eponymous creepy host. The announcement was made with Mercer showing up with a puppet of Mr Magpie at the end of the trailer.
Mr Magpie’s Harmless Card Game was unveiled back in June. Described by Giant Light Studios as “a surreal corporate horror deckbuilder hosted by a deranged puppet with a very warped performance and management program,” the title will task players with working their way up the corporate ladder by partaking in a seemingly harmless card game that might also end up having some dire consequences.
To achieve corporate success, players will have to figure out how best to use the cards they have been dealt to earn cash by exploiting strange synergies. Along with this, the title also has a system where players can push their luck to earn even greater payouts. However, there is one ominous warning – players should do everything in their power to avoid the JERRY cards. These JERRY cards “will kill you”, and “everyone hates JERRY.”
Mr Magpie’s Harmless Card Game doesn’t yet have a release date aside from an early 2027 window. It is being developed for PC and Xbox Series X/S, and the latest trailer also confirmed that it will be available on Game Pass from day one. For more on the title, check out its reveal trailer.
