After filing for insolvency just two days after announcing the event, Nacon Connect has officially been postponed. It’s now taking place in May instead of March 4th. The decision was made to “ensure that our future announcements have the impact they deserve.”

“Faced with a difficult economic environment for the company, we are choosing to focus our resources on upcoming releases and the development of our current games. This period will allow us to polish our projects and prepare for a new Nacon Connect to be held in May, which will showcase the work of our studios in the best possible way,” said the studio in a press release.

It will still share details on GreedFall: The Dying World, Dragonkin: The Banished, and Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss, among other titles. You can likely expect to hear about them sooner than later – the first two launch on March 12th and 19th respectively, while Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss arrives in April (with a playable demo available until 10 AM PST as part of the Steam Next Fest).

As for the company filing for insolvency, it’s ultimately down to Bigben Interactive, the majority shareholder, failing to partially repay its bond loan. It now requires “rapid implementation of a financial restructuring,” especially since court-supervised debt restructuring isn’t possible. How judicial reorganization will ultimately work out remains to be seen, but Nacon is keen on avoiding layoffs and ensuring the best for its employees.

Given that the hearing is set for this week, it makes even more sense to delay Nacon Connect. Stay tuned for more details and updates when it returns in May. Who knows? There could be some unexpected additions to the show in the coming months.
