Namco Bandai Posts £145 Million Profit, Dark Souls 2 Ships 1.2 Million Units

Profits down by 22.6 percent from last year but sales are up.

Namco Bandai has posted its profits and revenue for the full financial year ending on March 31st 2014. It reported a £145 million profit with a revenue of ¥507 billion (£2.9 billion) marking a 4.2 percent increase in sales. Profits are down 22.6 percent from last year.

The publisher also revealed sales for Dark Souls 2 after initially revealing last month that the series had shipped 2.3 million units worldwide. The second game alone, which launched in mid-March, managed to ship 1.2 million units on PS3 and Xbox 360. PC shipments weren’t revealed as of yet but thus far, sales for the game are very strong.

As for other software sales, Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z shipped 620,000 units. Disney Magic Castle: My Happy Life managed to ship 500,000 units in Japan for the 3DS.

From Software is currently tipped to reveal Project Beast, a PS4-exclusive title developed together with Sony, at E3 2014. Stay tuned for more details.
