Need for Speed Rivals

Despite the fact that it won’t be at this year’s E3, a new Need For Speed title is scheduled to come out this year. We don’t know a huge amount about it as of now, outside of the fact that the dev team is looking to bring back the cops and robbers vibe of previous titles. While we won’t get any face time with the game next month, we have gotten a little bit of information about what role customization will play in the game.

In an EA HQ Answers Blog, community manager Ben Walke assured people that lots of cars and lots of customization are key to the game. He says they consider them fundamental to the title, as well as the franchise as a whole.

“You could say that the cars and customization of NFS are the beating heart of what we do,” he said. “Without either of these, NFS fails to exist as we know it. These two elements play a pivotal role in the series and are two aspects that we consider to be foundational, meaning they aren’t going anywhere because NFS wouldn’t exist without them.”

Need for Speed is scheduled to come out for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC this year. It won’t be at E3, but look for more information about it down the line, possibly at Gamescom this year.
