Need for Speed Most Wanted “Better with Kinect” Trailer: Pew, Pew, Pew!

Start your car, switch vehicles or take a look around using Kinect voice commands.

Whether you’re against Electronic Arts for skipping over NFS Underground in favour of remaking Most Wanted, Criterion Games’ take on the game is looking mighty fine indeed. Like a combination of NFS Shift and Burnout Paradise, only somehow cooler, it’s making all the right noises and looks to be everything we could possibly want from an open-world racing game where the cops prefer jack-knifing your car over shooting you.

This new trailer has producer Chris Roberts demonstrating the use of Kinect for the XBox 360 edition of the game. Roberts loved how Mass Effect 3 handled the voice commands of Kinect, and thought it’d be cool to control many aspects of your car using voice commands in NFS Most Wanted. You can execute commands like switching your car’s engine on, spinning the camera 360 degrees around you to marvel at all the police who want you dead to rights, and even transfer to another car. It certainly looks to be intuitive without invading the core gameplay at all.

Look out for NFS Most Wanted in North America on October 30th 2012 and in EU on November 2nd 2012.
