Beyond Good and Evil creator Michel Ancel has been teasing fans with artwork over the past few days, hinting at the long-in-development sequel finally seeing the light of the day. Wonder no more as the official Facebook page has confirmed that the sequel is indeed in development.

“If you’ve been waiting for news about BG&E… well, here you go! We are delighted to confirm that Michel Ancel is currently working with the Ubisoft Montpellier Studio on a new Beyond Good & Evil game.”

Here’s the interesting thing – for all the hype around the sequel and how it’s been referred to as Beyond Good and Evil 2 for several years, said name was avoided in the announcement post. This makes us think that the sequel could be different from the teaser images and whatnot that we’ve seen of BG&E 2.

Could it actually be set in the past and involve Jade’s father in some way? That will be worth finding out but for now, stay tuned for more information.
