Believe it or not (by now), New Super Mario Bros U, to launch with Nintendo’s brand new Wii U console on November 18th in North America, is huge. Besides featuring the return of the unified game world, it has some amazing stages that both bring to mind past Mario games, and branch into an both interesting gameplay choices and beautiful artistry.

According to Siliconera, the game will feature a desert level with rotating platforms and treacherous Piranha Plant seeds, “Sparkling Waters” which contains a ghost pirate ship, a stage that clearly reminiscent of Van Gogh’s paintnig “The Starry Night”, an underground cave level with giant light blocks that switch on and off in sync with the music and a final world that features a twist to keep fans in splits.

You also have the standard false walls, hidden routes and invisible beanstalk blocks. Each world has it’s own secret stage, and let’s not forget the various challenges and coin collecting. Looks like this Mario is going to be an experience none too easily forgotten when it rolls around in two days.
