The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is one of the most hyped of this year’s games, which is actually pretty astonishing when you consider that the original was a low profile indie game release on PC back in 2007, and that the sequel, while achieving some mainstream recognition, still never actually made it big with the masses. But now, here we are with The Witcher 3, and the game has at least as much notoriety as a Dragon Age or a Dark Souls.
Unfortunately, for all the people who might just be jumping in with this game, it also means that there is a lot they might not understand- this is the third entry in the franchise after all, and let’s not forget, it is also the final part of a trilogy. So there’s every bit the chance that while you are excited to play the game, you have absolutely no idea what it’s about,

The good folks at CD Projekt RED have released a brand new video, which recaps some of the lore and story of The Witcher universe, so that you actually understand the context and significance of events in the new game. Make sure to watch it, so you’re up to speed ahead of the release of Witcher 3, which is now slated to be some time in May.
