While we knew that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was getting a brand new patch this week, we didn’t know there was DLC coming as well. It turns out that we didn’t know about the DLC because it wasn’t actually supposed to be hitting yet. This new content, which was a new outfit for Ciri, was released ahead of schedule and CD Projekt RED is now warning there might be problems if people install it into their versions of the game.
Marcin Momot took to Twitter in order to try and let fans of the game know the devs don’t want people using the prematurely released content. “This DLC became available prematurely via XBL – wasn’t ready. We advise against using it until it releases officially. The development team is taking the week off, but that doesn’t mean the company is taking much more than that off. The developer has said there are going to be at least three more pieces of additional content coming in the next few weeks.
What we do know is that at some point, players will be able to get Ciri’s new outfit with all the bugs ironed out. This follows in the pattern of other DLC that included new clothes for Geralt, Yennefer and Triss. What we also know is that CD Projekt RED has been working hard on keeping a game that is quite beloved churning out new content. The patch is one thing, but all the little tweaks and changes they’ve brought with DLC has been truly impressive.
