Next Bayonetta to Head to Portables?

Posted By | On 06th, Aug. 2012

In conversation with Weekly Famitsu, in an interview for their game creator series, Platinum Games’ Hideki Kamiya commented that if a sequel were made for Bayonetta, it would most likely be a spin-off for portables.

When discussing the idea with producer Yusuke Hashimoto, it seems a different direction altogether seems to be envisioned. The idea is for the game to star Jeanne and be set in the Umbra Witches’ Academy. The game would feature acrobatic “wire-action,” RTS elements for battles between Witche and Lumen Sages and maybe even a cameo by Devil May Cry’s Dante.

You know, to just leap into battles, attack both sides, and be awesome. As usual.

Though there may not be a console version on the cards for some time, a Bayonetta off-shoot could work pretty well. Time will tell how well these ideas play out, or which would be the primary platform (PS Vita or 3DS).
