NieR Automata Delayed to Early 2017

New E3 trailer released, if that helps.

NieR Automata (8)

Platinum Games’ NieR: Automata received a new trailer at E3 2016, showcasing more information about its setting and characters. That’s a good thing because Square Enix also confirmed that the PS4 exclusive has been delayed to 2017. Guess Platinum is now two for two on delays this generation.

Though first showcased at E3 2015, Square Enix had been revealing more information steadily and it seemed like the game would be on track for release this year. No reasons were provided for the delay though it’s probably a matter of polish and more time required for development.

NieR: Automata takes place in the future as humans fight a proxy war with alien invaders using Dolls, androids that resemble humans but with enhanced combat abilities. The game will follow the exploits of 2B and the older prototype A2.

What are your thoughts on the delay? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more details.
