Shortly after its recent Direct focused on the upcoming Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, rumors have now started going around of Nintendo planning another one for next week. According to credible leaker NateTheHate, the early days of February will see a Direct focused on third-party games.

This Partner Showcase is reportedly planned for February 5. While no details about it have been revealed either officially or through the rumor mill, NateTheHate believes that we won’t see announcements like Red Dead Redemption 2, noting that Rockstar Games handles its own announcements.

As is typical of Nintendo’s Partner Showcase Directs, upcoming third-party titles for the Switch 2 will be unveiled. We might also see older Switch games receive upgrades to better utilize the Switch 2 hardware, like Overwatch 2, for instance. Since, technically speaking, FromSoftware’s The Duskbloods counts as a third-party game, we might also get to see more details on it during the showcase.

Currently, there are two major third-party titles slated for the Switch 2 in the coming months: Yakuza Kiwami 3 and Dark Ties and Resident Evil Requiem in February, Pragmata in March, and 007: First Light in May. Borderlands 4 and Fallout 4 are also confirmed for Switch 2 releases at some point, and we might end up seeing an official date during the partner showcase.

The Switch 2’s launch year saw the release of several third-party titles, including heavy hitters like Star Wars Outlaws and Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition. 2026 for the Switch 2 has also seen the release of Final Fantasy 7: Remake Intergrade, with Square Enix confirming that ports for Rebirth and the unnamed third game are also in the works. Check out our review to learn about the Remake Intergrade port.

Most recently, Nintendo showcased one of its first-party titles – Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream. Slated for release on April 16 on Nintendo Switch, the Direct went into detail about its Mii-focused chaos. A follow-up to Tomodachi Life on the Nintendo 3DS and Tomodachi Collection on the DS, Living the Dream will feature much of the same gameplay, which includes creating and customizing various Miis that will then live as a community on an island.

Depending on how you created your Miis, they will also start forming their own personalities over time, with this aspect further amplified by the text-to-speech voice used for their conversations. The Miis can also participate in various activities, like starring in movies and shopping.

Much like the Animal Crossing series, Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream will also allow for deep customization of its island setting. This could range from simply adding more trees to the island to making large geographic changes that even potentially split it into a group of smaller islands. Players can also move buildings to create the layouts of their dreams. As a bonus, multiple Miis can also now live together in the same house. Keeping up with this, even buildings won’t be safe from your artistic talents thanks to the Palette House, through which players can design their own house exteriors.
