Nintendo NX New Images Leak

It looks pretty, but there are definitely issues.

The leaks are coming thick and fast as we near the official announcement of the Nintendo NX, which is slated to be the next Nintendo console. A few months ago, we got an indication of what Nintendo was planning with a patent that they filed. At GamingBolt, we ran a full analysis of the kind of controller Nintendo may have in mind, which was vindicated when early images of what was allegedly the NX controller leaked last week.

And now we have more leaks showing off the NX controller, and validating the original idea of what Nintendo may have in mind with their system, and… okay, I admit, the controller looks like a sexy piece of kit. It reminds me of the PS Vita in a lot of ways. But I don’t see any physical buttons, and that implies a touch only controller. Which I am afraid I cannot be on board with.

According to the leaker on Reddit, the analog sticks on this controller are a lot like the analog sliders on the Nintendo 3DS; the shoulder buttons are actually scroll wheels that depress, a lot like on a mouse. The controller has a headphone jack at the bottom, which will hopefully be used for headsets, and it will use some form of haptics technology to replicate the feel of actual physical buttons.

I just don’t see how something like this would even work.
