Remember how we reported last week that Destructoid had leaked that the long awaited Beyond Good and Evil 2‘s development had been salvaged by Nintendo, and the game was now going to be a Nintendo NX exclusive? It sounded like it was too good to be true- in fact, there were probably many of you who were ready to just dismiss the rumor.
However, someone who wasn’t ready to just let the rumor slide was Ubisoft. Destructoid, who leaked the rumor originally to begin with, recently revealed in a podcast that Ubisoft had wanted that rumor taken down- which, you know, they wouldn’t want unless there was some truth to the matter, and they were afraid of a potential NDA breach with Nintendo.
Of course, it also seems like Ubisoft doesn’t understand how the internet works, because once something is put on it, it stays there forever guys.
Regardless, it seems like there was some truth to the rumor- Beyond Good and Evil 2 may indeed be an exclusive to the NX, thanks to Nintendo’s intervention. Exciting times, really. I wonder how fans of the original will respond to something like that?
