While Media Create numbers are still not here owing to the end of the year Holidays, alternate tracker Famitsu has released its data for video game hardware and software sales in Japan for the final week of last year. And you won’t be surprised to see that the Nintendo Switch topped hardware charts yet again, with almost 200,000 units sold in the week ending December 30, which is almost more than twice that of all other systems put together.

On the software side of things, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was the top selling game yet again, also coming in ahead of several newly debuting titles. Evergreen Nintendo games, including Splatoon 2, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Pokemon Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee!, and Super Mario Odyssey all saw healthy sales and chart placements.

On the whole, then, not a whole lot seems to have changed from the previous week’s report, which too saw Smash coming in at first place, ahead of several newcomers, and Switch topping charts. Now to see how well everything holds in the early new year.
