The Nintendo Switch has done very well at GameStop for its launch. The retailer noted that it was one of the “strongest and most successful gaming console launches” in recent memory.

Senior director of merchandising Eric Bright spoke to Game Rant about the success of the hybrid console and noted that, “Stores across the country [on Thursday night] were packed with customers who couldn’t wait to get their hands on the brand new Nintendo Switch.

This is one of the strongest and most successful gaming console launches for GameStop in the last several years. For those fans who are still looking for the Nintendo Switch, don’t worry – we’re getting more.”

Even with critics torn on the console’s functionality – many love it for the portability while others lament the lack of features like video streaming services – the Switch does have acclaimed The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild to benefit from. Will that be enough? Stay tuned for more details.
