The Nintendo Switch hasn’t even been out for a month but it’s apparently making waves, at least for US retailer GameStop. Merchandising director Eric Bright spoke to GameRant about the system’s “phenomenal” success and noted that it “could possible eclipse the Wii”.

“I can’t give straight numbers, but I can say we’re seeing one of the highest attach rates of software and accessories to a device that we’ve seen in a long time.” Nintendo hasn’t shared any specific sales numbers either though there are reports that the company is doubling the number of units for production, from 8 million to 16 million units by March 2018.

Sales numbers could be in by April 27th which is the company’s next earnings report. For the most part though, it appears Nintendo has the momentum. Can it keep going throughout the year now that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has been out for several weeks? Stay tuned for more.
