The Nintendo Switch was unveiled on Thursday, 7am Pacific Time. It’s been less than four days since- but it looks like the system’s trailer has already crossed 17 million views in that period, becoming the most viewed video uploaded on Nintendo’s channel. This means it is more viewed than the even the trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which was the most viewed Nintendo video once it went live earlier this year at E3.

The Switch video is also currently more viewed than the Nintendo Wii U debut video has been since it went live five and a half years ago- its total views are a little under 11.5 million, which the Switch has outdone in less than three days. As of right now, the views for the Switch’s reveal far out number the total worldwide sales for the Wii U since its launch. None of this is counting the Switch video viewed via other channels or means, including the regional European ones, the Japanese ones, as well as any mirrors uploaded by other gaming media. Put together, the Switch reveal video stands at 20 million views worldwide, which is equivalent to the PS4 reveal video, which has had that many views in three and a half years. Switch managed it in less than three!

That’s not all, either- the likes to dislike ratio for the Switch reveal is insane, with over 450,000 likes for the video, and over than 20,000 dislikes- a 95% like ratio! The Switch reveal video is also currently still in the Top 10 trending videos on YouTube in multiple regions, and Switch remain one of the trending topics on Facebook and Twitter, three days after its reveal.

On the whole, it appears that Nintendo’s first reveal of their upcoming system has been well received by most people- questions and concerns about the new system remain, but for now, it looks like people are willing to give this new Nintendo system a chance. The Switch launches in March 2017 worldwide.
