Nioh Western Release Will Have Dismemberment

Hallelujah.

Ni-Oh

Did you think Team Ninja went soft? Think again.

The Ninja Gaiden developer’s upcoming hack and slash action title Nioh may not be as brutally violent as the studio’s classic series. However, players in the West can look forward to dismemberment in the game. The news was confirmed by the developer as a response to its demo announcement trailer on YouTube (via Destructoid).

How that will affect an enemy’s tactics, like in Ninja Gaiden where dismembering a foe was never a guarantee that he would stop fighting, remains to be seen.

Nioh has been in development seemingly forever and only re-emerged at Tokyo Game Show 2015. Koei Tecmo has confirmed the PS4 exclusive will be out later this year. It’s demo will be available on April 26th till May 5th and those who clear portions of it will gain access to the game’s DLC, The Mark of the Conqueror, when Nioh finally releases.
