No Man's Sky - Beacon

Hello Games has revealed its latest update for No Man’s Sky, which also adds support for the Nintendo Switch 2 ahead of its June 5th release. Available free for existing Switch owners, the Switch 2 Edition presents a sizable leap forward for the space-faring title. Check out the deep dive below with co-founder Sean Murray.

Alongside 4K textures, the Switch 2 version offers support for Nvidia DLSS and Dynamic Super Resolution, increased geometry, and an improved frame rate. Touch and gyro controls are supported with increased resolutions for Docked and Handheld Mode. Murray also notes the crispness of the user interface and confirms cross-save and cross-play with other platforms.

Based on the trailer, the visual improvements bring it closer to current-gen console versions, and those who jump in at launch will benefit from almost nine years of free content updates. These include Worlds Part 1 and 2, which added new stars and planets; Aquarius and its introduction of fishing; and Relics, which brought Paleontology as a new activity.

Head here for more details on the latest update, Beacon. No Man’s Sky is also available for PS4, PS5, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
