No Man’s Sky Debuts at Spike VGX: Massively Multiplayer Exploration Title from Joe Danger Dev

Set in a universe that doesn't like you too much.

Hello Games unveiled their first next-generation game at this year’s Spike VGX Awards, namely the massively multiplayer No Man’s Sky. It appeared to be a procedurally generated game right down to the last molecule and sees the player exploring different planets across the universe against the backdrop of sci-fi space vehicles. Check out the debut gameplay trailer above.

Hello Games’ Sean Murray talked about how you could fly just about anywhere in your space ship and that “If you see the stars, those are real stars, they have their own planets around them, and you can go there.” Described as an “adversarial universe”, No Man’s Sky takes place from the first person perspective and features both space combat and first person action.

Of course, being “adversarial”, you won’t always be the one going over on the opposition as each planet has its own background, mythos and structure to keep in mind. Sound good?
