No Man's Sky Interceptor update

Hello Games continues to support No Man’s Sky, and its latest hefty update, Interceptor, brings some love to the Sentinels. Along with revamping their ships and providing procedural designs and styles, players can now fly their own Sentinel Interceptor. It comes with a stylish cockpit but also has unique parts. Furthermore, you’ll need to venture to new Corrupted Planets to find the materials to maintain them. New Corrupted Sentinels guard them, so prepare for a fight or three.

How to Find Corrupted Planets

The first step is to find a Corrupted Planet. Open up the Galaxy Map and look for a “dissonant” system. You’ll need to scan the planets in the system for the Corrupted Sentinels. Upon landing, perform a scan for a Gravitino Ball. Picking it up will alert the Corrupted Sentinels, and you must defeat five waves of them to unleash a Dissonant Spike.

Pinpoint the Spike’s location on foot or in your ship (which is easier). It will lead to a crashed Sentinel Interceptor.

How to Repair a Sentinel Interceptor

Ensure you harvest the new crystals on the planet to repair the Interceptor and keep a lookout for Corrupted Sentinels, especially since they can turn invisible. If you explore and scan enough, you’ll find a Dissonance Resonator, which the Corrupted Sentinels will be guarding. Destroy it to obtain Inverted Mirrors used to repair the crashed Sentinel Interceptor.

After using Radiant Shards (mined from the purple crystals with the Advanced Mining Laser upgrade) and Inverted Mirrors to repair the Interceptor, examine the Hyaline Brain by selecting “Probe Subconscious.” It will mark an Ancient Site on your map. Go there and choose “Present Brain.” It will provide a Harmonic Brain in return. After returning to the crashed Sentinel Interceptor, insert the Harmonic Brain, and it’s now yours to fly. Take some time to admire the cockpit and its Sentinel styling.

How to Get the New Multi-Tool

Other noteworthy new items on Corrupted Planets include a new Multi-Tool. You can find this in Harmonic Camps using the Echo Locators that Corrupted Sentinel Quadrupeds drop when defeated. The latter also provides Atlantideum, also obtained from the new purple crystals.

No Man’s Sky is available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, PC and Nintendo Switch. It’s also playable on PlayStation VR 2.
