Nodusfall is a New Co-Op Action RPG by the Studio Behind Genshin Impact

The trailer reveals that Hoyoverse has more aesthetic styles up its sleeves than the anime art we've seen it execute in Genshin Impact.

During Gamescom’s Opening Night Live showcase, Hoyoverse has unveiled a brand-new game. The title is quite different from what fans of the studio’s works might be used to. Dubbed Nodusfall, the title will be a co-op action game set in a dark fantasy world. Check out the trailer below.

Rather than the anime-inspired visual style of games like Genshin Impact or Honkai: Star Rail, Nodusfall seems to be taking a more photorealistic approach to its environments, characters, and enemies. The trailer also gave us a look at some gameplay, which seems to involve quite a bit of fast-paced content.

A primary focus of Nodusfall, going by the reveal trailer, seems to be boss fights. We didn’t really get to see any standard enemies fought by the player characters, and just about every fight seemed to be against gargantuan enemies. The studio has noted that players will need to make sure that their tactics are sound to be able to take on these challenges.

Hoyoverse is known for the gacha-styled monetization systems present in many of its games. However, the trailer for Nodusfall didn’t quite reveal any hints about what we will see here as well. There seem to be plenty of playable characters, however, which would leave the door open for the studio to pursue its typical options.

No details about when Nodusfall will be coming out have been revealed, nor has Hoyoverse confirmed what platforms it is being developed for. Going by the visual aesthetics, however, it looks like the studio will be targeting PC and consoles this time around rather than also including Android and iOS in its plans.
