One of the most awaited games coming to the Nintendo Switch this year is Square Enix’s Project Octopath Traveler, a classic, old-school 16- and 32-bit style JRPG that seems to offer nostalgia and depth in equal measures. Anticipation for the game increased greatly after it headlined a Nintendo Direct last year, and the availability of a demo following that. However, we haven’t heard much of the game since- while we know it is due out some time this year, when exactly is mostly unknown.
With that said, online retailer Amazon may have inadvertently leaked the game’s intended release date- Amazon Germany has listed the game for an August release date, specifically August 17. August 17 is a Friday, the day that Nintendo games usually launch on, so that part checks out as well.
That said, this is not official confirmation, and it should not be treated as such- hopefully, said confirmation is coming this E3 (or maybe in a surprise Direct before then?).
