After a very long hiatus, the Oddworld franchise is on its way back with Oddworld: Soulstorm. The game will launch across all major platforms, but in a move that’s sure to be controversial, but totally not a surprise at this point, is that the PC version will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store. In an open letter, the developer announced it and their reasoning for it.

Via the official Twitter, in a frank message to fans looking forward to the game, they say that the PC version will still come at the same time as the console versions in 2020, but they chose this path due to the financial offering from Epic in hopes of having more finances to create the game they want to.

The Epic Game Store situation has become the new normal, but is still a heavily polarizing one and this is sure to be equally as controversial. No word on how long the exclusive period will last, but either way, Oddworld: Soulstorm will release in 2020 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch and PC.
