Original Xbox ‘Duke’ Controller Releasing For Xbox One and PC Later This Year

But why?

Posted By | On 12th, Jun. 2017

The original Xbox controller, called the ‘Duke’, was an utter monstrosity. It was big, misshapen, and so bad that Microsoft ended up redesigning it into something called the Xbox Controller S- a wonderful controller that set the standard for all Xbox controllers going forward.

People, however, are weird, and there are many who unironically hold nostalgia for the Duke. Those strange people will be happy to know that the controller will be returning this year- Hyperkin has announced that it will be releasing the Duke later this year for the Xbox One, Xbox One S, Xbox One X, and PC. The new Duke will be a “faithful recreation of the original controller’s form-factor with some updated features: a logo display screen, left and right bumpers, and a 9 ft. detachable cable.”

So there’s that. I don’t know why someone would want it, but hey. Maybe it’ll be good for playing some original Xbox games on your Xbox One. It’ll truly sell the nostalgia.
