The Invasion is ongoing in Overwatch 2, with players in the hero shooter taking on the forces of Null Sector in new story missions (assuming they paid the $15). For everyone involved in PvP, there’s a new hero in town – Illari, the last Child of the Sun. A new Origin Story is available, highlighting her tragic past. Check it out below.
Illari is from Peru, and her people rely on solar energy to sustain themselves. Some could also harness the sun’s power in their bodies and join the Inti Warriors. Illari also trained to become one, and while she had great potential, the ceremony to weave the solar threading necessary went wrong. Her power overwhelmed the proceedings, killing the other Warriors present.
Isolating and blaming herself afterwards, Illari eventually musters the resolve to carry on the Inti Warriors’ legacy and make up for what happened. For more details on the hero, check out her gameplay trailer here.
