Overwatch 2 - Lifeweaver

As promised, the Overwatch 2 development team will provide alternative controls for the newest Support hero, Lifeweaver. Game director Aaron Keller confirmed that they would go live next week and become the default (though the old set-up is still usable).

Alternate Fire will now shoot Thorn Volley, Lifeweaver’s attack. No more having to switch between it and healing. Petal Platform is also Ability 1 and replaces Dash (which is now double-tapping Jump). To compensate for these changes, the auto-reload of Thorns is “slowed,” though by how much remains to be seen.

We won’t have to wait long for new details. Lead hero designer Alec Dawson will provide details on balance changes later this week. Given how Lifeweaver has received mixed reactions, it should be interesting to see the changes.

Overwatch 2 is available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch and PC. Season 4 is currently ongoing – head here for more details.
