Overwatch 2

A new developer update is available for Blizzard Entertainment’s Overwatch in which director Jeff Kaplan reveals a new free-for-fall map Kanezaka coming to the game. However, he also confirmed that Overwatch 2 would be seeing an update at BlizzConline 2021. The event is currently set for February 19th to 20th.

Announced at BlizzCon 2019, Overwatch 2 adds a co-op PvE campaign to the game for up to four players to tackle. Characters like Reinhardt, Tracer, Mei and Lucio, among others, are playable and have customizable abilities and skills. The sequel will also see the introduction of heroes like Sojourn.

PvP-wise, players can look forward to new maps and a new mode called Push where two teams battle over escorting a robot to the opposing side’s spawn. All of the new heroes and maps will be available to owners of the first game and any cosmetics unlocked will also carry over into the sequel. Overwatch 2 is currently in development for Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC – perhaps its Xbox Series X/S and PS5 versions will be unveiled at BlizzConline 2021.
