Overwatch

It’s been a wild ride but season 2 of Competitive Play in Blizzard Entertainment’s Overwatch will be concluding today at 4 AM PST.

Season 2 marked several changes in the Competitive format. The coin flip and Sudden Death mechanics had been removed while ranking tiers were introduced alongside a wider range of skill ratings. The change has been mostly successful though Blizzard will look into adjusting placements further in season 3.

Speaking of which, season 3 of Competitive Play begins on November 30th. Players can still queue for competitive matches using the same ruleset and format but no skill points will be rewarded and skill rating won’t be affected. Think of it as a neat way to practice before the next season begins.

What are your fondest memories from season 2? Let us know in the comments below and hurry up if you still want to place higher than your current tier – there isn’t much time left.
